What To Do With Your Warwickshire Half Term
Warwickshire half term is getting pretty close – the 18th-26th February! Have you made plans yet?
It’s tempting to stay inside, windows shut against the rain as the kids run around and drive you crazy, but wait! There’s a multitude of activities just for half term, turning a dreary week indoors into a festival of fun!
See The Lights
Smell the sawdust and see the spotlight! You can treat yourself to the theatre even with your kids in tow as there’s a mass of family-friendly productions on this half term. For example, you can head to Hatton Adventure Park for a theatre/farmyard experience, with magic shows, animal handling and a mini funfair combined with a magical pantomime, Aladdin.
You can go further afield for your Warwickshire half term, especially if you’re staying in Warwick. The town is very well connected, whether you’re travelling by bus, train or car. You can make it to Coventry with no trouble at all, perfect for watching the intriguing Pinocchio at The Albany Theatre. With puppets, illusions and original music, it provides a truly unique experience for the entire family.
If you’re in Coventry, check out The Wave. If your kids like rides, they’ll love this waterpark, and so will you! It’s amazing how they fit six rides, a lazy river and a wave pool into the centre of this vibrant city. Should you want a break from high-octane fun, you can also enjoy Mana Spa, their very own Maori-inspired spa!
Adventure Time
We’ve gone from theatre to adventure, with fresh air fun for kids and teens. Country parks are also a great way to amuse the little ones this Warwickshire half term, with den-making and smore-eating on the agenda.
If your family is a little older, the castle’s Festival of Archery might appeal. From 11th-26th February, you can admire live demonstrations, full-on tournaments, and participate in have-a-go archery. You don’t have to bring the kids, so go ahead and check out your skills! The same goes for a day at Warwick Adventure Sports, with an incredible catalogue of high-energy options. Now is your time to try segways, hovercrafts or clay shooting. You can even attempt axe-throwing if you’re feeling brave. Got a group of you? Storm the enemy camp in a game of paintball or laser tag!
